The unique baroque complex in the valley of the Elbe River built by Count FA Spork (1662-1738). Kuks Construction was started in 1692 (GB Alliprandi).
First, it was built on the left bank of the spa area in the medicinal springs with lock and staircase. On the right bank of the hospital was built with the Church of the Holy Trinity and the Count's tomb. The area in front facade of the church and the hospital is decorated with sculptures by MB Braun (1684 - 1738), depicting religious allegories and a number of Virtues and Vices. In 1743 he was put in the hospital Brothers of Mercy, who cared for the sick and elderly inmates according to the statutes Šporková Kuks castle Foundation. The former generosity and monumentality of the entire complex testifying documentary engravings, but also preserved a Baroque pharmacy, hospital, church, chapel, garden and lapidary original sculptures.
